It Takes All Kinds - Fair triple-cross drama in reference to Miles’ guarding of Lansing after the man inadvertently kills a sailor in a fight in Australia. Cast includes Vera Miles, Barry Sullivan, Sid Melton, and Dime Sugg. (98 minutes, 1969)

The Defiant - A captivating tale of 2 escaped convicts, one black and one white who are chained together as they escape from the penitentiary in the South. Exceptional performances by Williams and Chaney as individuals they meet during the voyage. Academy Prize for screenplay by Harold Jacob Smith and Nathan E. Cast includes Tony Curtis, Sidney Poitier, Theodore Bike, Charles McGraw, Carnie Williams, and Lon Chaney, Jr. (97 minutes, 1958)

Onionhead - A confused movie with Griffith joining the Coast Guard in pre WW2 and becoming a ships chef. The motion picture tries to be a comedy, a romance, and a drama at the same time and succeeds at none. Cast includes Andy Griffith, Felicia Farr, Walter Matthau, Erin O’Brien, Joe Mantell, Ray Danton, James Gregory, Joey Bishop, Roscoe Karns, Claude Akins, Peter Brown, and Tige Andrews. Aladdin - Disney’s animated Arabian Days storyline is polished through the feeling of an old Warner Bros. animation, as Aladdin summons up a Genie who’s exploding with shtick. Williams’ comical fast fire shtick forms the attraction of this alternatively conventional tale, colorfully (and tunefully) shown. Darby’s Rangers - Garner does well in WW2 action motion picture as leader of attack troops in North Africa and Italy, concentrating on relations amid his platoon and their beach romances.
